Tackling Illegal Off-Road Motorbikes - Donnington. |
||
|
Dear resident At about 3pm on the 25th of April 2026, Donnington SNT were conducting patrols around The Bell Recreational Playing Field in Donnington following several reports of illegal use of off-road motorbikes. Below is an image from our Body Worn Video of a male youth riding illegally on the field. Is this your child? Do you know where and what you child is doing in the community?
Key Dangers and Risks of Illegal Riding:
Dangerous Riding Behaviours: Reports include adults and youths riding on public roads, pavements and parks. Illegal riding on parks increases the risk of harm to legitimate park uses, often families and children. Illegal riding on roads can cause cars to brake suddenly and increases the risk of accidents. To avoid being stopped illegal riders often take greater risks.
Legal Consequences: Riding off-road bikes (dirt bikes, scramblers, quads) on roads or public spaces without insurance, license, or proper registration is illegal. Police can seize vehicles under the Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.
We are appealing to the Donnington Community. Do you know this rider? Do you know of any other illegal off-road riders in the Donnington area? Contact the team with information at wwtd.snt@westmercia.police.uk
